Our Story

Why do good people who care deeply about their relationships still struggle?

Why do some couples seem trapped in the same painful patterns year after year? Why do relationships break down despite sincere effort, love, and good intentions? Why do some individuals repeatedly find themselves facing the same challenges in dating, marriage, family, and life?

For decades, these questions drove a search for deeper understanding.

For our founder, Lynette Jones, that search became intensely personal. As a young mother raising seven children and navigating the complexities of a large family, she experienced firsthand the joys and challenges of relationships.

A pivotal moment came during a painful experience that forced her to confront a difficult reality: contention could not create the life or relationships she desired.

Determined to find another way, Lynette began an extensive search for answers.

Through years of study, personal experience, and a deep exploration of scripture, she discovered patterns and principles that helped explain why people think, choose, and interact the way they do. What began as a personal search eventually developed into what is now known as the Relate Social Structure: a framework for understanding relationships through timeless principles rather than labels, personalities, or surface behaviors.

Years later, another journey would intersect with this work.

Growing up in East Germany, experiencing family disruption, immigrating to the United States, building a blended family, and later facing the possibility of divorce, Yvonne Mughal had her own questions about relationships. Like many people, she wanted to understand why relationships become strained and how meaningful connection can be restored.

Seedlings

When Yvonne encountered Relate, she discovered a new way of understanding herself, her husband, and the patterns influencing their relationship. As understanding replaced frustration and judgment, new possibilities emerged. The principles she learned transformed not only her marriage but also her vision for helping others.

Together, Lynette and Yvonne share a conviction: people are not broken.

Most people are doing the best they can with the understanding they have. Often, what is missing is not effort, desire, or commitment but the ability to recognize the deeper patterns influencing thoughts, behaviors, and relationships.

That belief became the foundation of Pinnacle Summit Academy.

Today, we help individuals, couples, and families better understand themselves and one another through the Relate Social Structure and other transformational tools. Our mission is to help people recognize their inherent value, break free from destructive patterns, and build relationships rooted in respect, purpose, and healthy interdependence.

Whether you are dating, navigating challenges in marriage, rebuilding after loss or divorce, or simply seeking greater understanding in your relationships, our goal is the same:

To help you see new possibilities, make wiser choices, and create stronger, healthier connections.

Because when understanding grows, relationships can too.

What Makes Us Different

Most relationship advice focuses on what people are doing.

We focus on understanding why they are doing it.

Many approaches teach communication techniques, conflict-resolution strategies, or personality profiles. While these tools can be helpful, they often address the symptoms rather than the underlying patterns that shape relationships.

At Pinnacle Summit Academy, we teach the Relate Social Structure—a framework for understanding the principles and patterns that influence human interaction.

Rather than placing people into categories or assigning labels, Relate helps individuals recognize the predictable ways beliefs, perceptions, motivations, and relational patterns influence choices and outcomes.
When you understand the pattern, you can respond differently.
When you respond differently, relationships can change.

Our students often tell us that for the first time, they begin to understand not only themselves, but also the people they care about. What once felt confusing starts to make sense. Long-standing frustrations become opportunities for growth, and relationships that felt stuck begin moving in a healthier direction.

Relate is not about fixing people.

It’s about understanding the principles that govern relationships so you can make wiser choices, build stronger connections, and create lasting change.
